Currently, this route is only travelled by boat or ship within one and a half hour by the city of Tangub and Tubod.
The original cost of this project is 4.8 billion but it reaches to 7.8 because the peso dropped against the dollar. This project is led by the Korean Economic Development Cooperation.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, Governor Imelda Dimaporo attended with the President, DPWH Sec Mark Villar and Korean ambassador to the Philippines Han Dong-man.
According to DPWH Sec. Villar, the PBB is the first of the 16 bridges built under the Build, Build, Build program. BBB plans to link Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
