In an interview of CNN Philippines with the opposition senatoriable and Otso Diretso candidate Samira Gutoc, she said that she opposed the d3ath penalty punishm3nt.
This was her statement after the host of the tv program talked about the case of a Grade 9 student who had been brut@lly murd3red.
For Gutoc, the main cause of the problem should be solved. She questioned where were the police that night the incident happened to the 16 yrs old and that is the issue.
Watch the Video:
“Ang problema natin diyan bakit nangyari, the roots of criminality. Bakit hindi siya naproteksyunan? Where were the police patrolling at night? That is the issue,” slammed Gutoc.
Gutoc also explained why she don't want the d3ath penalty punishment. “The constitution says no inhumane, excessive punishment shall be done,” she added.
Gutoc's statement is very opposite to Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) respond in the case of the grade 9 student who was brut@llymurd3red.
“Ilang [biktima] pa ba ang hihintayin natin upang magising na tayong lahat na kailangan na natin ng parusang kamatayan para sa mga demonyong kriminal na gumagawa ng mga karumal-dumal na krimen,” responded VACC.
